In-Home Services Alternatives Program

In-Home Services help support frail senior citizens, caregivers, and disabled adults under three different programs:
In-Home Services may include help with personal care, homemaking, respite, Adult day care, companion services, emergency response systems, or other equipment.

Through an intake process that can be done over the phone, case managers will assess individual client needs to determine which services they may be eligible to receive.

The Alternatives Program provides services based on client need and program funding. This program is funded totally with state funds.

To be eligible to receive services under the Alternatives Program, an individual must:

  • Be 18 or older.  The majority of individuals on the program must be 60 years of age or older.


  • Meet a moderate to high level of frailty as measured by Utah Division of Aging & Adult Service (DAAS) approved assessment instrument.


  • Meet low income and asset guidelines established by DAAS.

A monthly fee is required.  The fee is prorated based on an individual's financial eligibility determination.
